Washington DC iPhone pics 7

On our last sightseeing day we went to the National Archives museum and did a capital tour. It was cloudy out but still extremely hot.

We got to have breakfast every morning as part of our package deal. It was a full breakfast with almost everything. It was good! Alyssah would eat muffins and eggs and sausage. She ate pretty good most of the time.

Josh ate cereal the whole time!! He loved it!!

Jake ate a ton!! He loved almost everything!!

Our last day sightseeing! We all loved the metro! Very easy to figure out!

At the national archives, we couldn't take pics of anything on the exhibits floor but here was fine.

We went to a resource center and the kids could color and do small activities.

After the national archives we went on a tour of the capital. It was cool to take the kids into the capital.

The art work is amazing in there!! This is a one dementional art work, but it looks 3D. Very neat.

Alyssah was looking at the painting on top of the dome. She was wearing head phones here because we were on the tour and this way we can hear the tour guide.

Art work in the capital. So amazing!

Day 6 was as hot as ever. It's not so bad when it's just hot, but it's so humid too! Oh well we are trying to make the best of it, even if we (me) get crabby ;)

My kids about to go in the Smithsonian Zoo. We were taking a water break :)

There weren't very many animals out, it was hot for them too, but we saw some cool ones. We really wanted to see the panda bears but they weren't out. We did see some elephants and gorillas though, we never get to see them. There is a gorilla in the above pic in the tree house.

My kids posing by a metal frog. I really like this pic.

An iguana

HUGE turtles

A lion and about 4 cubs. They are bigger now, but still really playful!

After the zoo we went to Arlington cemetery. It was really an amazing thing to see. It made me think of my grandpa who fought in WWII.

Alyssah was in awe too. We told the kids to be quiet and honor those who died and Alyssah really took the role seriously. She was so sad looking while we were there.

JFK and Jaqualine Kennedy Onassis' grave. Very awesome to see.

When we were done sight seeing we went to the hotel and went swimming. They were so excited!! I'm glad they love the water!

She was happy too! Of course!

Then when they were sleeping I looked over and saw Josh sleeping and he looked like a little boy. I can't believe how big he is.

Day 4 brought us to the capital. OMG it is HOT HOT HOT out!! Not used to the heat and humidity!! So we were going to tour the capital, but we couldn't get in unless we threw away our 6 water bottles, and we couldn't. So that's going to be on Fridays list :)

Seeing it is really neat though, I'm so glad!! We thought it looked awesome there :)

After looking at the capital we planned on doing all things outside, but we were so hot we decided to go into the American History Museum. We didn't see too much that we liked there, but there were a few interesting things. We got to see one of the first American flags ever made! It was huge, and pieces were missing. We were not allowed to take pics, but I will find one online and post it later.

We got to see dorothy's ruby red slippers from the movie. They weren't very red though.

After that we went out in the heat and toured the WWII memorial. It was really neat to see. I'm glad we did :)

We then WALKED 200 ummmm I mean a mile or so to the Lincoln memorial. The reflecting pool was under maintenance. But it still looked cool! :)

Abe Lincoln really neat to see :)

My kids sitting on the Lincoln memorial steps

In front of the white house. Really cool to see :)

She was soooo tired after we got back :) she didn't even eat. We walked so much today and I think of her little legs and how she walks double our steps :)
