On our first full day in New York, we had a full day planned, or Mark did anyways! He planned out the whole day today and I am super happy about it!! We had to meet our tour bus, (about 4 blocks away) and we had to meet them at 9am. It was a 6 hour tour of New York! How else would have we seen the city! I was really excited! We had a blast too!
There were a few shops down on the street below.
We are almost to times square and this street was Broadway!
There it is! I love the business of it! It was so awesome!
We were on our tour bus waiting for it to start. Mark didn't want to take a picture, and you can tell it here! It was cold out, and we were happy to be on the bus!
I honestly can't remember what this building was. We saw so much!
But this is Central Park! I was excited to be in the park! Even though they have record snow too, it was still very pretty too!
A pretty bridge there!
A map of Central Park. I really hope we can go back someday in the summer or fall and enjoy the parks beauty without the snow :)
The is building is an appartment building called the Dakota. The reason they named it that was because when it was built, it was way up north of anything else, and someone had said, that it was so far north it was like it was in the Dakotas, meaning South and North Dakota. Kinda some cool history! Also, this is where John Lennon was killed and Yoko Ono still lives here, occupying the whole 3rd floor.
We were close to Rockerfeller Center
This Church took up the whole block, it was so beautiful!
In the Spring, Summer, and Fall, this is an out door cafe. Kinda neat to hear.
The Rockerfeller Building, it was pretty tall!
And this is where the Today Show is filmed at. They were taking down all the baracades.
I love the look of New York.
The Empire State Building
The corner of the building is only 6 feet wide!
The Empire State Building, is now the tallest building, in New York until the Freedom Tower is done.
China Town New York
It was neat to see, just driving by. We had no desire to stop there, but I am glad we could see it.
A really cool building!
The water boat we were going to take to see the Statue of Liberty
This is New Jersey
A bridge away from us, not sure what it is called.
New York
A close up of the Statue of Libery. So amazing to see!
We didn't get off on Ellis Island, it is a whole days tour there, and we didn't really want too. Had we done some searching I am sure we would know some names of people who had come through here. I am glad we got to see her, and looking up at it like this was perfect!
3 bridges in New York, The Broolyn Bridge, The Manhatten Bridge and The Williamsburg Bridge. They were really neat to see up close!
The Brooklyn Bridge
The Manhatten Bridge and in the back ground is The Williamsburg Bridge.
Trinity Church. The gravesite beside it had past presidents burried there.
The New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street
The Beautiful Trinity Church
I like this building!
Ground Zero. There really are no words about this. A very surreal moment.
The new Freedom Tower. It is going to replace the twin towers, but won't be build in the same spot. That ground is now considered sacred ground now. And there will be a memorial there, with waterfalls made, and everyones name who died will be there. I wished we could come back and see it.
This was at Battery Park, and this used to sit inbetween the two towers. It is rumored that an airplane seat was in the middle of the ball, you can see it is ripped apart.
After our tour, we walked down Broadway and Times square.
Mark bought some nuts from a street stand. They were pretty good too!
The New Years Eve ball was still up.
It is so awesome!
We were ready to go to the Phantom of the Opera! Mark totally surprised me with that one!
